About Social Work
Social Work at The Women’s aims to improve the psychosocial health and well-being of women, pregnant people and babies attending The Women’s. Social Work embraces a view of women’s and patients health that is holistic and considers women’s and patients social, physical, emotional and cultural wellbeing. Our Social Workers offer support to patients through their maternity, neonatal, gynaecological and oncology experiences and provide information, counselling, support and advocacy for patients in response to health and social needs. Team Leaders will have clinical and non-clinical accountabilities as well as responsibilities for leading departmental clinical portfolios and working groups.
About the role
As the Team Leader you will take a clinical leadership role in ensuring excellence in patient care, education and support of staff and students, and fostering of staff development through the provision of supervision and other professional development opportunities. You will also be responsible for operational leadership and coordinating the Social Work team/s, ensuring the maintenance of high-quality direct service work by the social workers. You'll play a key role in working with stakeholders to develop innovative models of care and optimising the role of Social Work within the team.

About you
You will be a passionate social work professional with motivation to develop and lead a team in provision of clinical social work practice.
You’ll bring with you:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work as well as meeting eligibility requirements for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience as a credentialed social worker
- Previous experience leading or working effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Capacity to work effectively in a changing organisational environment
- Demonstrated leadership skills accordance and provision of social workers with regular supervision in accordance with AASW practice standards
