The Role
The Delivery Support Services Team is the first point of contact for enquiries regarding the Pacific Australian Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme. Operating from 8.30 to 6.30 AEST, the team triages and responds to telephone calls and email enquiries and undertakes various payment processing duties for the Division.
Reporting to the Director, the Assistant Director is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Delivery Support Services Team in collaboration with your leadership team peers, by:
- Forecasting and allocating resources to maximise service responsiveness and quality.
- Ensuring staff have clear guidance and support, including coaching and mentoring.
- Providing operational reporting on response rates, times, types and trends.
- Gathering intelligence and providing input to correspondence and briefing papers.
- Undertaking risk management and quality assurance activities to ensure that obligations are being met.
- Providing assistance to the Director as required.
The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience working within and adapting to a rapidly changing landscape, and experience in managing teams.
In addition, the successful applicant will demonstrate the following:
- Strong collaborative leadership to manage, motivate and build the capability of operational staff.
- Highly developed communication, negotiation and liaison skills.
- Sound judgement with strong analytical and conceptual capacity to support effective decision making.
- Experience in a customer-focussed environment with excellent interpersonal.
- Contact centre experience desirable, but not essential.
This position is available to Ongoing APS employees as a temporary transfer at level or a temporary performance (Acting) opportunity for a period of 12 months.
Eligibility
Our successful candidate will need to hold a valid Baseline clearance to undertake the role.
